1. I would describe my artistic style as more realist and drawing things as i see them. My take on art is if the thing is cool, and the thing is accurate and convincing, then the thing is a success. Success as a artist is being consistently happy with the final product and making money of your skills. (at least enough to live off of) The most rewarding part of being an artist is improving and making something that other people including yourself can enjoy.
The most important skills that go into making a piece is an understanding of anatomy and how things connect and interact with each other, and understanding of how value works and how to use it, such as light sources and shadows. Some of the most significant things i've learned is patience, dedication, and how to make art. But it is most important to have fun with it. 2. I think my favorite medium to work with was the prisma colors because i could make convincing drawings with them, however most where rushed which doesn't work well with the layers based medium. The bright colors make it easy to make vibrant pictures and the pencils were fairly easy to blend. Also I am familiar with normal pencils which is what i normally use and that made the prismas easier to approach.
3. I felt i was least successful in the pencil still life because I am very bad at using rulers and drawing big. Because the piece was so big shading took forever and it made it difficult to accurately create round shapes and congruent patterns. If I were to do it again I would make it smaller if possible and pick objects with less detail and spend longer on it.
4. I do not think my portfolio accurately represents my growth throughout the year. I tend to preform better when i am drawing on my own time, and doing subject matter that suits me. I tend to get bored easily when my heart isn't really in it. Like drawing multiple pieces of candy or patterns is tedious for me personally. I think i shine better when drawing things found in nature or things i am interested in. such as trees or animals, or people.
